DIGITAL SHAKER SURVEILLENCE
DrillDocs delivers data and alerts using AI-enabled computer vision technology that give drilling teams real-time insight into cuttings returning at the shale shakers.
Their CleanSight® digital shaker surveillance system uses high-resolution cameras and advanced image analytics to monitor cuttings flow, size distribution, and shape during drilling and casing operations.
By analysing cuttings characteristics at the shaker, the system helps operators assess hole cleaning performance, detect early signs of wellbore instability and evaluate solids control efficiency. CleanSight® integrates camera data with rig drilling parameters, providing continuous remote monitoring and actionable insights that support safer and more efficient well construction.
DrillDocs’s Core Services:
REAL-TIME VIDEO CAPTURE
CleanSight® uses Axis Communications explosion-proof industrial cameras with embedded edge computing to capture continuous high-resolution video of each shale shaker. AI-enabled image analysis processes the video feed in real time, digitally characterizing the cuttings returning to surface throughout drilling and casing operations.
HOLE CLEANING INSIGHTS
CleanSight® analyses the size, shape, and number of cuttings returning across the shakers in real time. By accounting for lag depth and drilling parameters, the system provides a direct measurement of hole cleaning efficiency. These insights allow drilling teams to improve cuttings transport models, monitor cuttings recovery, and identify deteriorating hole cleaning conditions early.
CUTTINGS RETURN RATE
Using image classification and machine learning, CleanSight® measures the cuttings return rate during drilling, circulating, tripping, and casing operations. Observed cuttings volumes are compared with theoretical cuttings production to detect downhole cuttings accumulation or unexpected returns of undrilled rock.
WELLBORE STABILITY MONITORING
CleanSight® continuously scans the cuttings stream for large or abnormal objects that may be cavings indicative of borehole instability. These anomalous objects—referred to as unidentified falling objects (UFOs)—are automatically detected and an alert (with video clip) is sent to the drilling team, providing an early warning of potential wellbore collapse.
Unlike traditional visual checks by rig crews, CleanSight® provides 24/7 monitoring, enabling faster response to instability events and reducing the risk of stuck pipe and other drilling issues.
